Long Night of Museums
Berlin’s Long Night of Museums is the first of its kind in the world and marks the highpoint of the museum year in the capital.
With more than 70 exhibition spaces, we invite all Berliners and guests to discover the diverse treasures of Berlin’s museum landscape in a new way. The capital’s biggest cultural event – invented in Berlin in 1997 – has been copied worldwide due to its success and has long since become a cult brand. Even after more than twenty years, the original Long Night of Museums reinvents itself every year, delighting fans and first-time visitors alike. Current Information
On August 24, 75 museums, exhibition venues, memorials and planetariums will open their doors for the Long Night of Museums. This year’s theme “Berlin Secrets” promises many surprises: paintings will be turned around, codes deciphered, riddles solved and hidden rooms opened.
At midnight, things get even more exciting with readings by the “Murderous Sisters” or performances in a ruin. Shake a leg with us at a salsa party, belt it out karaoke or strut your stuff at a voguing ball.
This year Young Euro Classic is our guest at the Museum Island meeting point, featuring music from Scotland, South Africa, India and Mongolia.
