Sustainability Strategy

At Kulturprojekte Berlin, we create unique cultural services and happenings, we are a knowledge store, a platform and facilitator for theaters and museums, as well as a place for creative and cultural professionals to seek support and consultation. We do all this with Berlin, for Berlin. As a public institution and non-profit organization, we bear a special responsibility, especially for Berlin’s urban society. To fulfil this responsibility towards both the present and future generations, we aim to act according to socially, ecologically and economically sustainable principles.

This is why we pursue overarching sustainability goals in four key areas of action at all levels of our work: participation, diversity and anti-discrimination, environmental and climate protection, and resource efficiency. To continuously improve ourselves, we rely on perpetual knowledge development, mandatory minimum standards for all projects and services, supplementary recommendations for business operations and project management, sustainability experts for every project and every area, and an internal, systematic sustainability management system.

Fields of action and key targets regarding sustainability

Sustainability in our projects

For our sustainability goals to be achieved within our projects and services, 15 minimum standards must be met. Additionally, our employees have access to further recommendations for action in the area of sustainability, as laid out in guidelines and databases.

Sustainability reporting

We report on our efforts in relation to sustainability. We do this in accordance with the sustainabilty code (DNK) of the Federal Ministry for Ecomonic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany.
