In 2009, the yearlong celebrations marking the “20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall” attracted an audience of millions and pushed Berlin to the forefront of worldwide attention.<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Working in cooperation with the Robert Havemann Society, we had already previously created and implemented the first-ever exhibition spotlighting the Peaceful Revolution in the GDR. That exhibition focussed from the outset on the events preceding the fall of the Wall as well as on their subsequent impact. Our cooperation with the Robert Havemann Society created the perfect foundation upon which to develop the yearlong events marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall. Using our trademark approach of working with select partners to transform unusual concepts and sophisticated content into popular formats, we were able to reach an audience of millions for the first time.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Our \u201cPeaceful Revolution 1989\/90\u201d open-air exhibition at Alexanderplatz covered everything from the early days of the protests in the GDR and the fall of the Berlin Wall all the way to German unification. The exhibition met with such a great response that it was extended by a year. A red \u201cInfobox\u201d made its way through Berlin, with stops at 20 streets, squares and neighbourhoods where Berlin\u2019s transformation in the twenty years since 1989 had been especially noticeable. The large red Infobox staircase became a popular meeting place, attracting more than 2 million visitors. At the key commemorative event held on the evening of 9 November and billed as the \u201cFest der Freiheit\u201d (Festival of Freedom), prominent personalities, artists and thousands of young people helped to design 1,000 large-scale \u201cdominos\u201d that resembled the slabs of the former Berlin Wall and which were then pushed down in a large-scale symbolic gesture as the whole world looked on!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
